Rug Overhead Photography for Designer Rugs

Rugs are an integral part of a home’s décor and to shoot it in the most flattering way possible is key to boosting rug sales, particularly on e-commerce platforms. That’s why; more and more rug and interior design brands today seek out professionals like us. It helps them create a product image portfolio that simply put, entices the customer and makes the sale. On our recent rug photography gig with Designer Rugs, we worked with a similar brief; we had to professionally photograph overheads of the brand’s assorted rugs.

For the shoot, we had to attach the camera to the ceiling to ensure maximum lens width and to capture the entire expanse of the rug.  All images were then enhanced and cropped in Adobe Lightroom. So, we’ve taken care of colour correcting, adjusting distortion, brightness enhancements, contrast and clarity adjustments as well as straightening and cropping.

One of the most important aspects of any rug overhead shoot is to ensure that the product is accurately reproduced – colour and detail. A professional copy lighting setup is key to achieving this.

Designer Rugs loved the final rug shots and it’s a testament to our ongoing relationship with the brand. The images are expected to be used for the company’s advertising and marketing activities and on their website. So, watch out!
